On Thursday, September 22, Bradford Academy High School hosted their annual Investment, Health and Wellness Fair in partnership with Silent Cry Inc, a New York based non-profit organization that takes a holistic approach to aftercare from mass incarceration, gun violence and trauma.
Students heard from powerful keynote speakers including staff members of Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, joined by the National Football League’s first black female coach Collete V. Smith.
Principal Tommy Brooks said, “This event will undoubtedly inspire out kids to think about what’s next for their future. To have national leaders and heroes in our building to speak with our students as colleagues will be a life-changing experience.”
The event hosted a panel discussion, workshops and breakout sessions to allow students to engage with local and national leaders. Silent Cry understand the challenges people face in the process of self-development and when overcoming grief.
